In july 2014 took place the tender for the privatization of the portuguese public waste management group – EGF – with overall 70% of the portuguese market (with share in 11 multi-municipal companies).
STEERIN was responsible for the technical due diligence, and support in the strategic plan from the proposal presented by SUMA, that has been awarded with the winning proposal (149,9 M€).
The consulting services included:
- Business solutions based on Best Available Techniques (BAT), with focus on feasibility and the achievement of the goals contained in the PERSU 2020;
- Development of concept, technical and economical feability studies from several Waste-to-Energy Plants;
- Technical evaluation from the status of the present Mechanical and Biological Treatments from EGF Group;
- Evaluation of landfill biogas;
- Investments in landfills;
- Logistics for selective and undifferentiated collection of waste.
